If you knew what it really takes, you would not even be sweating this conversation right now. You would be feeling my legs under the table!" "Nah, now you don.t try to change the topic! And you know how to be a rapper from Connecticut? Your runway ass don.t know shit about rapping, nonetheless know how to! Since you seem to know so much, and you knew all this time that this was one of the reasons why I could not get on, then why you never said anything until now? You supposed to be my lady?" Junya sighed as he instinctually turned in the direction of a black female that passed in his peripheral vision.
"Listen to you, Mr. J-Know it all! What you think this is, some old
political bullshit between me and you.some old Blackwater scandal! Khevasiah
responded chuckling. I.m keeping secrets from you, I do not want you to
succeed?"
"You don.t like my rapping, well don.t like it when I go multi-platinum
and I leave you for one of those fancy blonde chicks! Junya said
sarcastically. You can keep not liking me then!"
"Fuck you.seriously. Khevasiah said with a turn of her eyebrow. Now I
think you taking this discussion a little too far.a little too serious in the
wrong context. I say these things at you because I know how sensitive
your punk ass is! All this time I.ve been just sitting back and watching
how you handle yours as a man. I have nothing to do with that part. And
on the real.you barely handling that shit.!" Khevasiah completed her
statement with a "go on girl. sigh at the end.
"What!" Junya said in a very raised voice. The elderly white couple that
they were sitting next to looked over towards them.
"You kids need to lighten up," the older woman said
"She.s uptight because you haven.t been hitting the bootie, eh son!" The
elderly man sneered.
Junya chuckled, as well as Khevasiah. Khevasiah poured herself another
glass of champagne and drunk it about as fast as she poured it. She followed
with another glass; this time sipping it hard. She picked up the bottle again and
filled up Junya.s glass.
"Here, drink up.we got a few more hours before we have to hit the city.
Is there any more of that L left?"
"Yea," Junya mumbled. He picked up his glass and proceeded to drink.
After he finished, he picked at a piece of the bread, and dipped it in the meatless
sauce.
"You know wha." Junya started, then he cut himself off mid sentence.
He picked up his glass again; not putting it back down until it was finished.
"Did you say something to me baby?" Khevasiah whispered.
Junya shook his head sideways while he brought the newly filled glass to
his face. The bottle of champagne was now empty.
The bill came to the table and Khevasiah got up to use the bathroom.
Junya looked at her as she walked off, knowing what was about to take place.
The dinner came up to $85 dollars even; almost all of the money Junya brought
with him. He looked around only to see some of the other patrons in the
restaurant looking at him. He reached into his pocket and pulled out all of his
money in one draw. He peeled off $60 dollars, and waited for Khevasiah to
come out of the bathroom. It did not take long for him to realize that she was not
coming back to the table. The waiter came back and inquired about any
problems; Junya shook his head and reached into his pocket and put another $40
dollars on the table, then got up from the table.
"Sir, your change." the waiter said insistently
"Nah, that.s aaight.you can."
"No, here. It is quite alright, I understand." The waiter said while placing
the money into Junya.s hand.
Before Junya got a chance to respond, his cell phone rung. He looked at
the number and saw it was Khevasiah calling.
"What is taking you so long?" She screamed into the phone.
"Oh, nothing. I was talking to th."
As he looked up in the direction where the waiter was standing, he
noticed that the waiter had already walked off. Junya hung up the phone and
went outside, only to see Khevasiah had parked right in front of the restaurants
grand entrance with the engine still running.
Khevasiah sped out the parking lot and proceeded back onto the highway.
Junya was feeling light headed from the champagne, yet he remained awake.
