Junya asked inquisitively. "Yea, a little of that too. I pulled over on some back street, and rizzed it! She then told me it was getting late, and her friend that I was supposed to meet was excited about seeing me again. I told her to get out the car and walk so her friend would not be suspicious, but her friend wasn.t that dizzy. She had just got back as I dropped her friend off, and she put two and two together. When I got to the door, she did not answer. All I heard was „fuck you asshole!. Well, she had kicked the girl out the apartment for fucking with me, but now she got her own little spot."
"You is a slick nigga yo! Junya said proudly. Well, what is the deal with
NYC? Do you think you can shoot me out that way?"
"NYC...hmm...well, I got to be in at work. Any other time, I would be
right on it! I have to be in at work in less than 3 hours. If I head out there, I will
not make it back. Besides, I told you I am trying to see this bitch before I go in!
Can.t manage that NYC troop right now yo."
Junya gave a still look as if Kholi was going to immediately change his
mind. Kholi started to dial the number of the girl he intended to see before he
went in to his job. Junya looked up at the time, and saw that it was 3:15. There
was no way that Junya was going to get a ride into the city. Going back to
Hartford was not an option on the top of his list, but nonetheless, he still had a
problem with his finances.
"Hey Kholi?"
"What do you want yo?" Kholi suspected by the way Junya asked the
question.
"Let yo boy use the whip while you at work? You get off at midnight,
right?"
"Damn god...I would, but...lets see...I get off of work at 11:00pm actually,
and you just got to meet up with Khevasiah, right?"
Junya paused in his response. At this point, he was not sure really as to
why he wanted to go back to NYC. Khevasiah had already dissed him. He had
no money, no copies of his CD, nor did he have any knowledge of where
Khevasiah was. If anything, the primary objective on Junya.s mind was to link
up with Lani, the lawyer from the diner, before she long and forgot about him.
Khevasiah had to come back to Connecticut eventually, and if she really gave a
damn about Junya, she would make the effort after her weekend of partying
ceased.
"You can.t drive stick, can you?" Kholi asked as if he answered the
question for Junya.
"Nah, not really. I have driven before, but..."
"I will ask you again, can you drive stick, or can.t you?" Kholi asked
again, this time with the keys in his hands looking square into Junya.s face.
"It will only be into the city, you know I am good with cars. Remember
that time I drove us home after that party up in Mass? We was both tore down
that night."
"We are not talking about bushy ass Mass, we are talking about pretty
City, The Big Apple: NYC. You really got to be on your best driving out there
god. Are you sure?" Kholi had an expression of worry on his face.
