There is no option for them, they do not feel any option

There is no option for them, they do not feel any option. They are subject to succumb to their environments and the exposure of their individual reality. You act like you never been to the hood! You got friends in jail, you should know this shit! Why you acting fucked up like niggas with school is the only good people around. Some of ya.ll be the most fucked up ones! Ya'll get ya.ll paper, then you go marrying some white girl, or some bullshit like that. In the hood, all we got is eachother, and a degree ain.t gonna change the fact that you black, and you need to realize..." "And you need to realize that you being black is exactly why you should not act like such a hopeless: like there are no other opportunities in this bitch of a world. Why should I have to be a thug just to show a black woman that I can hold my own!"

"No one said you had to be a thug baby, you got to know how to be both: an educated thug, if you will...here, hit this...the exit is coming up." Khevasiah passed the blunt back over to Junya. She screeched the dry tires on the late night New York pavement as they turned off of the exit toward the main strip where the club was. Khevasiah circled around the block, passing the club to see what was nearby for reference points. When she came around again, the doorman signaled her to park at the side next to the club where the nicer cars parked. She parked in between a Mercedes Benz G500 truck and a 2003 Lexus GX SUV.

The two sat quietly for a moment as the truck idled while Khevasiah slowly turned the engine off. Khevasiah kept the stereo on. She then leaned the seat back and proceeded to finish the blunt that was rolled. "Now Junya, remember, we are here to enjoy ourselves, and relax. I am meeting a business client, and I do not need you hawking me every five minutes. This place looks pretty live, so take some time to mingle, get to know a few new peoples. You never know who you might meet that can help you out with your music!

"N...Now where you supposed to meet this dude at? How he know who you are?" "He knows what I look like silly, you forgot I used to do work for him back in the day. We gonna be in the VIP, and he should be over there. But don.t limit yourself Move around in there, please! Promise me you will not be all on me like some bouncer or some shit. I need my space when I am handling my business." "I don.t know why you acting all paranoid? You ain.t all that anyways!" "Fuck you!" Exclaimed Khevasiah in a calm joking banter. "Yea, I love you too...now give me a kiss and let.s go in here and do the damn thing!" "Are you ready?" Khevasiah said with a worried expression on her face. Note: Khevasiah had never taken Junya out anywhere like this, and she knew that Junya would have never have made it to a place like this on his own. Her gut feeling told her that something was to occur during the course of this night that might not act in the favor of their relationship. Throughout the course of their excursion to the city, they had fought during dinner, taken an extended detour, smoked a lot; probably too much for Khevasiah (who was used to smoking before meetings because it relaxed her, especially in crowded environments), and she had held out on Junya at the hotel. Junya was a very understanding individual, but he was also extremely jealous when it came to Khevasiah and other men being around her. She also knows that he is shy and he will probably just sit down all night and pass up a chance to meet some very prominent people. Without her guiding him along, she would feel remorseful in the event that Junya did not make any connections.

After all, she did invite him to come along with her. Junya did not need Khevasiah to hold his hand, in the same sense, Khevasiah was right when she explained that Junya need not look for the stars, but look to speak with new people, and make new friends. His constant bickering during the course of the evening lead to many falling outs. Being in a crowded environment was not to mend any tensions that the two had faced up to this point. Junya loved Khevasiah, probably more than she did him. The fact is that Junya knew that it would not take much for her to come to her senses and leave him. Junya felt as if he was undeserving of a woman like Khevasiah, due to her social status and wealth. He also knew that she was all that people put her up to be. Outside of Khevasiah's money, she was a really emotionally fragile person, that used lashing out and flashing to help keep her strong, and Junya's comprehension of those elements help them to mesh well together; now the mesh is turning into mess as they enter the club.
