A new beginning for the fellas rose with the rising sun. Plans had been made for everyone to meet at Charles' house for a special breakfast and to once again watch the days' basketball match-ups as a group. Cupid and Tanya were the first to arrive at the two-story home. Michelle greeted the two of them with hellos, hugs and kisses on the cheek. Shortly following their arrival, the rest of the group showed up ready for breakfast and shit talking. Michelle, who had been cooking since the early morning, began to set the table. Tanya, not wanting to sit around the fellas and listen to their manly conversation, assisted Michelle in the kitchen.
"I am at your disposal," Tanya said to Michelle.
"What's wrong, the talk of sports got to you already?"
"No not at all. Sports, that's a welcomed topic for me. I just felt like
the guys needed this time to catch up on the past."
"Yeah, I think it's cute that they have this time with each other."
"Do you feel like we are intruding at all?"
"No, not at all," Michelle began.
"It's my understanding that the
reason they split up before is because a few of them wanted to have
women included in their Sunday's and some didn't."
"Yeah, that is what Cupid told me as well."
"So I guess we are welcomed," Michelle said as she reached for a large
glass bowl.
"Let me get that for you," Tanya said to make herself useful.
"So have you two begun to think of any names yet?"
"Charles has, but what hasn't he thought of?"
"Girl you are so lucky."
"What makes me so lucky?"
"The fact that you have a man that is willing to stand by your side
and be a part of this experience."
"I guess."
"What do you mean you guess?" Tanya said as she turned and rested
on the sink. "Do you know how hard it is to not only have a man, but
have a man that is as excited about being a father as Charles is. This
child is important to him. That is all he talks about when he is at
Cupids house, my son this and my daughter that. He talks about how
important you are to him and how happy you make him. I don't know
what you have done to him, but can you give me a little of that mojo for
Cupid?"
The girls laughed and continued to get the food ready. They stood
silent before Michelle turned and asked Tanya if she could trust her with
something.
"Of course you can. What's on your mind?"
"Have you ever been unsure of something and you didn't know how to
bring it to someone's attention?"
"Yes."
"Well, how would you or have you handled it?"
"It depends on what it is that I'm unsure of."
"Let's just say you need to tell someone something that you know will
tear them apart. How do you do it?"
"Do you want the truth or do you want a sugar coated reply?"
"The truth of course," Michelle said sternly.
"The truth. The truth is you just tell them. You have to be honest not
kind."
