After their pleasantries were completed, the fellas along with Tanya and Michelle happily walked through the airport attempting to make plans for the evening. Gigolo wanted to take Allen to dinner at The Stinking Rose to celebrate the completion of his task with Nike, as well as for his safe arrival home, but more so to apologize for his past actions. Calorie made the offer to take him to Gladstone's, but the group decided against seafood. Walter and Cupid thought they could entice his love for Italian food by offering Macaroni Grill. Allen thought about the fresh bread, the Penne Rustica and the Insalata Con Pollo and his mind forced his mouth to taste the flavor of each item. Though the time reflected 8:15 pm, Allen's body was still operating on the 11:15 pm Toronto time frame. Allen decided to decline the offers of dinner and thanked the fellas for their kindness, then asked Charles and Michelle for a ride home. The fellas continued to talk about the time away from one another. As Allen and Gigolo talked, the rest of the fellas reminisced about the Sunday afternoons that will never be the same again.
"You know," Gigolo said. "I am happy to see that Sundays for us are
going to be changing."
"Why do you say that?" Allen asked.
"Because C and Cupid both have ladies that they say they are
bringing to the games on Sunday."
"And you're ok with that?"
"I told you I understand."
"I'm glad to see that you have enlightened yourself."
"I had no choice. It was either lose my boys or learn to trust love."
"That's decent bruh. Real decent."
The group reached Charles' truck and again embraced as they began
their cordial goodbyes. Allen loaded his luggage into the massive cargo
space that Charles' Excursion held then climbed in to rest his tired body.
For the first few moments of the drive to Allen's town home, the three
rode in silence until Michelle asked Allen how his trip was.
"I had a great time in Toronto, thank you for asking."
"Was it your first time there?" She asked to keep the conversation
going.
"Yes. Yes it was. I am sure that I will have to make many more trips
though. My boss has placed me over that store also."
"Jones aren't you in charge of the west coast though?" Charles asked.
"Yeah, but he felt like I would have a better rapport with the staff as
well as with the sales team because I was the one to hire them all. I
guess it makes sense. I am just happy that the next time I go, it won't be
for three months."
"Yeah, I have been hearing about you for three months. Charles was
making me begin to think that you didn't exist."
"C has a way of over exaggerating things. By the way, I here that I am
going to be an uncle soon."
"Yes," Michelle answered hesitantly. "You are going to be an uncle
soon. I can't believe that he told you, but you will be an uncle soon."
"What do you mean you can't believe I told him? I told you that I was
going to tell him."
"Who else did you tell?"
"I told all my boys. They are happy for us. I know that you are not
upset? This is a good time for us baby. We're in love, we're happy and
that can only mean that we will have a happy baby."
"I know, I just don't want your friends looking at me funny or drawing
conclusions about me."
"That you don't have to worry about." Allen said as he rested his head
on the window.
"When did you begin to worry about what people thought of you?"
Charles asked as he changed the radio station.
