"Get the fuck out of here. She works there?" Calorie said in disbelief
as he sipped his beer.
"Yeah."
"The way you described her in the past she sounds like you got
somebody you could take home to meet your moms." Gigolo said.
"I don't know. Whoever I take home to meet Moms will be somebody I
am sure about."
"Why do you say that?" Walter asked.
"Because the first woman he brings home his moms is going to do
everything she can to keep her around. It's called marriage." Charles
said.
"Whoa," the fellas said one after the other, "watch your mouth bruh."
"Yeah the game is just getting ready to tip off, don't spoil it with foul
language." Gigolo said with Calorie agreeing.
Allen arrived at Gwen's home at 11:00am with flowers in hand. He
was dressed in a pair of khaki shorts, white t-shirt and sandals. Gwen
stood on the sidewalk in front of Mr. Davis home and talked with him as
Allen got out of the car.
"Hi baby." Gwen said as she kissed Allen softly on his lips.
"Hi baby, you look very nice in that dress." He said as he held her in
one arm and the flowers in the other. "These are for you," he said as he
extended the gift to her. "I hope you like them."
"I like them because they came from you. Baby, I would like for you
to meet my dad. Allen this is my dad, Charles Davis. Dad, this is Allen
Anthony, my date."
"Nice to me you son. You got a real good find right here." Mr. Davis
told Allen.
"Nice to meet you as well sir. I believe that also." Allen said as he
and Mr. Davis shook hands.
"Well dad, we are off. I will call you when I return." Gwen said as she
hugged Mr. Davis and kissed him on the cheek.
Allen and Gwen walked to Gwen's home to gather her things and
place the flowers in water. As they entered the home, Allen stood with a
puzzled look on his face.
"What's wrong baby?" Gwen asked.
"I thought you told me that your parents died in an accident?" He
asked confused.
"They did." She replied. "Mr. Davis and his wife call me their
daughter. After Jes passed away, Mr. Davis told me that I was their
forgotten child. Since I had no family left and they never had any
children, they said that they would love it if I would be their daughter.
Now would you like to see my place or would you like to go?" Gwen said
as she placed the flowers on the dining room table.
"Well thank you for the explanation and I think we should be going.
We have a little drive ahead of us. Besides, there will be time for a tour
later right?" Allen smiled.
"Sure." Gwen smiled. "Will I need to bring anything?"
"Nope, I got it all taken care of."
"A man with initiative, I like that." She said as she grabbed her
purse.
