"Jones, you're not on your own, you got the two of us at least"...

"Jones, you're not on your own, you got the two of us at least," Charles said as he hugged Allen.
"What do you mean the two of you, what about them other ass chasin' niggas?"
"That's another story," Cupid interjected.
"OK, I'm listening," Allen said.
"See, since you been gone," Cupid started with Charles singing the old Blue Magic song Since You've Been Gone, in the background. "Me and C started dating."

"Not each other I hope?" Allen said playfully.
"Naw fool, we datin' women," Cupid defended.
"I'm just playing," Allen said laughing. "So what does that have to do with Walter, Gigolo and Calorie?"
"When they found out that we were dating, they assumed that the crew was no more. I tried to explain to them that C and me had done a lot of talking over the last few weeks and came to the conclusion that you were right."

"About what?" Allen asked
"About the fact that we are pushin' thirty and have no clue of what love is, how to be loved or even knowing if the love we are getting is true love or not."
"We decided," Charles continued, "that it was time to see what this thing called love that you respect so much was."
"So because you two want to experience love, they feel as though we are not boys anymore?"

"No, that's not it," Charles said, "because we agreed with you about having our ladies with us to watch the game two weeks ago."
"Well look, I have no bad bones about them, but if something that is important to me is not important to my boys, then I guess they ain't my boys. Life goes on, besides I got other issues to deal with that mean more to me than them niggas hatin'. By the way, who are these girls that have my boys singing a new song?"
"Well," Cupid said taking lead of the introductions. "Her name is Tanya Long and she's an accountant at the law offices of Maguire and Associates."
"And what about you C?"
"Her name is Michelle Francis and she's a teacher from Rochester, New York."
"So yawl diggin' em?"
"Yeah," they both said in aggreance, "yeah we diggin' em big time."

Allen stood and removed his navy blue blazer that sat on the backrest of his blue leather desk chair. He replaced the Sports Illustrated magazine to its original resting-place and asked Charles and Cupid if they wanted to grab breakfast and discuss the new found love in their lives. They both agreed and suggested Vivian's on Ventura and Vineland. As they prepared to leave Allen's office, Mary called on the intercom.
"Mr. Anthony, Mary said hurriedly, "there is a call holding from Mr. Douglas and he said that it is of the utmost importance."
"Thank you Mary," Allen said as he pulled his chair out again and told Cupid and Charles that he would meet them downstairs.
