"Nigga, you got to be a mind reader," Cupid said with aggreance from
the fellas. "'Cause I was thinking the same thing.
"You niggas wild," Allen said as he smiled at their approval.
"She aight," Gigolo said as he nibbled on a piece of fruit.
"Yeah, whatever nigga," Walter responded.
"Nigga, tell me this," Gigolo sat back in his chair, "What is the ass
like? I saw she had a nice somethin' somethin' back there."
"It figures," Allen responded, "that had to be your question. Well to
tell you the truth, I don't know."
"You don't know or you don't want to tell a nigga."
"Nigga I don't know. That is not my focus. I like her and I am willing
to wait. Maybe she is the one that I have been waiting for. I've been
doing shit wrong over the years and for the last year and a half I have
been doing things right and I'm not willing to give up yet."
"Nigga go somewhere else with that bullshit." Gigolo said.
"You know what Gigolo?" Allen stood, "The funniest thing about you
is in me, you see what you want to be. In me, you see the type of life you
want and it drives you crazy. In me, you see the strength that I have to
turn down pussy when its thrown in my face and you wonder how I do it.
You know I look at you and I see a lonely mutha fucka. Get your shit
right bruh and don't step to me disrespectful again."
"Fuck you nigga." Gigolo stood.
"Fuck you." Allen said looking Gigolo in the eyes.
"You ain't no better than any other nigga trying to make it in life and
while he's trying to make it he hits a little ass along the way. What gives
you the right to judge me?"
"Man, I'm not judging you. You just judge everybody else if they don't
live their life the way you live yours. Bruh, I have always respected the
way you've lived your life, wrong or right. But since I told you all how I
felt about love and that I wanted it in my life, you have done nothing but
spit flames at me and you have the balls to say I'm judging you!"
"Well, I guess you found that shit. You better run and get it before it
gets away from you again."
"Gigolo," Cupid interjected, "you way out of line bruh."
"Naw, let him talk man, he needs to hear himself." Allen said as he
regained his seat.
"So what's up with you and Gwen, Jones?"
"I'm feeling her man. Big time."
"So you think she is the one?" Walter asked.
"I do man. I think she is definitely the one."
"Marriage material?" Walter asked.
"Definitely."
"I wish you well bruh." Cupid said.
"Thanks man."
The fellas sat in silence for a moment and watched the game as they
reflected on the conversation over the last few minutes. The ladies still
talked in the kitchen and occasionally laughed. With halftime of the
game less than a minute away, Gigolo stood and apologized to Allen for
his actions and his words.
"I accept," Allen said as he stood and embraced his friend.
