"Oh, before I forget," Gwen started, "don't get too attached to Derrick."
"Why is that?" CJ asked.
"Well, as Gigi says and I think it is rather rude, he doesn't know if he
is coming or going."
"Girl you need to talk english to me," CJ said.
"Girl where have you been. Oh so very sheltered." Tanya said as she
and Gwen laughed.
"Ok, one of you would want to start talking."
"Girl," Gwen offered, "he doesn't know if he wants a woman or a man."
"What?" CJ yelled. "Get the hell out of here. As fine as that boy is, he
is gay or whatever he is?"
"Yep," Gwen answered as she and Tanya laughed.
"He had me all moist and ready to take a trip to the bathroom and get
some use out of my pocket rocket."
The girls shared a laugh as they again confirmed the rest of the days'
plan. They agreed on having salad for lunch to save room for dinner.
Gwen suggested Le Petite Four since she hadn't been there since CJ
introduced it to her. Tanya agreed since she had never been there
before. She had regular lunch meetings and always needed new places
to take and impress potential clients.
After more discussion and the
thought of Le Petite Four's menu, they decided on Islands. They knew
there, they would be able to get what they looked for.
The girls reached Islands close to 2:00pm. Upon entry, they were
quickly seated and asked if they would be having appetizers with their
meal. They all declined and each lady ordered salads from the menus
that rested on the table.
"Gwen," Tanya began the conversation. "My job does this annual
fundraiser for the American Breast Cancer Foundation. Each year we do
something different to raise money and this year we decided to have a
date auction."
"What is a date auction?" CJ asked.
"A date auction is where you have several ladies and men present
themselves to a room of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes and you
begin bidding on a date with the candidate."
"That sounds like a good idea." Gwen said. "What would you like me
to do, make a donation?"
"No," Tanya said smiling. "I want you to participate in the auction. I
want you to be one of the eligibles at the auction. Actually, I want you
both to participate."
"Oh, that sounds like fun," CJ said. "I'm in."
"I don't know Tanya," Gwen said. "This sounds like it could be more
than I can handle."
"What do you mean. It's safe and it will be a lot of fun. And after all,"
Tanya campaigned, "it is for a good cause."
"True, but I don't know. This is something new for me, to be
auctioned off for a date. Damn am I getting that hard up."
"Come on Gwen," CJ encouraged, "what's the worst that could
happen?"
"You're right, it is for a good cause and it will be a lot of fun. Ok, I'm
in too."
"Great, I will give you both all the information when we meet up
tonight."
"One question," Gwen said, "when exactly is this auction? I have this
Nike case that should be over by Monday, then I'm free."
"Oh it won't be for another few months, the exact date is December
15th so you have more than enough time to get yourselves' ready."
