"See, there you go with that romance shit again, that shit just ain't in
my game plan, that shit ain't for me. See Jones, that romantic shit,
every woman wants it, but they don't realize that every man can't be it."
"What? C, that's an excuse, and excuses are just like booty holes,
everybody got one. Don't make excuses for me and other brothers like
me, make excuses for you. Yes, every woman wants to be romanced, and
every brother can do it, it's just that some brotha's won't take the time to
do it."
As Allen and Charles continued their conversation, the waitress
presented herself and took their orders. They both order the BBQ
Chicken pizza and IBC root beer.
"I hear you man,"
Charles continued as the waitress walked away
from their table.
"I've been trying to see Angela regularly, she wants me
to commit, but I don't know, I don't think I have time to love one
woman."
"What do you mean you don't have time to love one woman?"
"I don't."
"I don't believe what I'm hearing dawg."
Allen said as he looked at
Charles shaking his head and smiling.
"It takes more time to try and
freak ten women than to love one. You have to worry about spending
time with one on this day and another on the next day and another on
the next. Not to mention worrying about AIDS, 'cause I know you're not
using condoms with every woman you sleep with. Now if you want to
know the truth, that's why you don't have time."
"Yeah you're right, but as far as the condoms, I use them on the
important ones."
Allen sat and starred at Charles in disbelief.
"What," Charles said with a sly smile, knowing that he was about to
hear it from Allen, "what?"
"What,"
Allen asked, "man listen to yourself before you ask me what.
You just sat here and said to me that you use condoms on the important
ones. First of all, everyone is important for you to use condoms with.
Secondly, if you have to choose which women you are going to use a
condom with, then bruh you don't need to be with the women that you
don't use one with. Use your head bruh, I don't want to be the only one
around for your children's graduation."
"Man, you know I don't have any children."
"That's what my point is."
The two sat looking at one another as the waitress returned to their
table with their orders.
"Thanks man,"
Charles said,
"thanks for your wisdom."
"No bruh, it's not wisdom, it's wanting to stay alive. I'm 26, and I
don't want to grow old alone."
"My man,"
Charles spoke with conviction,
"if I die tonight, you will
never grow old alone, because there is a woman somewhere that is made
for you to grow old with."
"As well for you my brother,"
Allen said,
"as well for you."
"Shit, if I don't take your advice, instead of saying you as well, you'll
be saying get well."
"I hope not," Allen replied with a laugh.
