With Traci and Cupid being the first to get to the dance floor, Gigolo and Charles decided to ask Adreonna and Tanya to dance. The two girls accepted the invite to the dance floor, which left Jes, Calorie and Walter sitting at the table because Xavia decided to make rounds while Tanya danced.
"So Jes, what do you do?"
Walter initiated conversation.
"I'm a secretary at Maguire and Associates."
"That's that big law firm downtown right?"
Calorie asked.
"Yes."
"Do you like your work?"
Walter asked.
"It's work, I wouldn't say I'm unhappy, but I wouldn't say I'm totally
happy either."
"That's not a good thing Jes."
"What's not a good thing.?"
"Not knowing if you're happy or unhappy with work."
"Why is that not a good thing?"
"Because that means that you're settling instead of pursuing."
As their conversation went on, Calorie thought it would be best to
stroll the room.
"Yo man,"
Calorie spoke,
" I'm going to take a look down stairs and
see what I can see."
"Do your thing man."
As the two watched Calorie walk away, Walter took the opportunity of
privacy to ask Jes her status.
"So Jes, are you seeing anyone?"
"At this time,"
Jes began politely, "no I am not but before you try and
shop your demo, understand that at this time, I'm not looking for any
new acts."
"Damn, so does that mean you won't let a brotha have a listening
session?"
"You got it."
As Jes finished her sentence, Adreonna and Traci returned from the
dance floor with Cupid and Gigolo.
"Where's Calorie?"
Gigolo asked.
"He's strolling the room,"
Walter answered.
"Don't you mean stalking the room?"
Jes said.
A few chuckles came from the table as Cupid ordered a round of
drinks.
"So what have you two been up to since we've been gone?"

"Just talking and finding out about one another,"
Walter said.
"Where is Tanya?"
Jes asked.
"Right behind you," T
anya said as she and Charles returned from the
dance floor with Xavia close behind.
