| LCC | Lincoln Correctional Center. |
| Last Number | Referring to a time frame of previous incarceration. |
| Lay-in | A verbal or documented excuse for an inmate not to perform their assigned job. |
| Lead-poisoning | A shooting, assuming the bullet is made of lead. |
| Lock-down | When offenders are locked in their cells for a shakedown or a disturbance within the institution. |
| (The) Man | Any person in authority. |
| Man-in-the-boat | A woman's clitoris, I suppose because some folks say it looks like one. |
| Manipulize | A form of manipulation. |
| MO | Modis Operandi - Mode of Operation. On what an inmate has built his reputation, or for what crime he is known. |
| MR | Misconduct Report. |
| MSU | Minimum Security Unit. |
| NCCW | Nebraska Correctional Center for Women. |
| NSP | Nebraska State Penitentiary. |
| New Commit | A fresh inmate. |
| New-Style 61 | A battery designed for the new style radios. |
| OCC | Omaha Correctional Center. |
| Old-Style 61 | A battery designed for the old style radios. |
| Orangemen | Inmates in segregation wear orange jumpsuits, hence the name, Orangemen. |
| PC | Protective custody. |
| PDR | Physician's Desk Reference for prescription drugs. |
| PED | Parole Eligibility Date, or the date on which you are eligible for parole. |
| Pass | A slip of paper from staff allowing inmate movement. |
| Pat-down | A search for contraband without removal of clothing. |
| Pay Store | The fi rst opportunity to go to canteen after pay day. |
| Perp | Short for perpetrator; synonymous with criminal. |
| Pogey-Bait | Junk food. |
| Porter | Inmate worker. |
| Posturing | Preservation a reputation or saving face. |
| Recidivism | Rate of repeat incarcerations. |
| Red Star | In reference to an inmate who has a red star in their classifi cation folder. As a result of their crime, these inmates can have no contact with minors. |
| Reg. | Pronounced reej - An abbreviated term used to describe the regional center. |
| Represent | Showing member affi liation with a gang. |
| Ride | Escort (Your ride is here.). This is different from rides. "He rides with me," refers to an alliance. |
| Rug-riders | People of Arabian descent. |
| Secured | Closed and locked. |
| Scatolia | The smearing of feces. |
| Scooby-Snack | Bribery candy. |
| Scud | Item to be placed in your ass for hiding purposes. |
